Gender equality certification
Law no. 162 of 5 November 2021, implementing the national recovery plan (PNRR), established the Gender Equality Certification.
What it is
As part of Sustainable Development, one of the goals set by Europe is achieving gender equality between men and women. For this reason, Italy introduced the gender equality certification, which aims to recognise the measures companies adopt in terms of:
Incentives and reward systems
A 1% reduction in the total social security contributions owed by the employer, up to a maximum of €50,000 per year.
Bonus scoring for the granting of State aid and/or public funding in general.
In tenders for services and supplies, holding the certification leads to a better ranking position.
The certification examines the entire company, identifying 6 specific areas to focus on.
Each area carries a different weight in the assessment and a variable number of KPIs depending on the company size band.
Together the indicators add up to a maximum of 100%: to obtain the certification you need to reach at least 60%.
