Stereotype Smashers

A European project to overcome gender stereotypes in the workplace through play.
GEG – Gender Equality Game is an Erasmus+ project that brings together Italian and Swedish partners to create an innovative game that challenges gender stereotypes.
Through gamification, we want to stimulate reflection and promote more inclusive, equitable, and diverse work environments.
Duration: October 2024 – September 2025
Why it is important
Gender stereotypes still influence opportunities, careers, and well-being at work today.
In small and medium-sized enterprises – often with fewer resources dedicated to training – awareness
becomes a key tool for change.
The game becomes a new, engaging and accessible way to break down prejudices and foster
equality.

Main Project steps
The project is developed in 4 main steps:
State of the Art – a collection of good practices and existing tools.
Field Analysis – focus groups and surveys of SMEs to understand real needs.
Learning Tool Prototype – mockup design and game prototype development.
Awareness & Dissemination – final conference, landing page, and networking activities.

Project Results
The result of the project is the creation of a kit containing three games designed to encourage reflection and overcome gender stereotypes in the workplace:
-
Match the Unmatched – an innovative memory game to recognize and question gender bias.
-
Break Through – a strategic challenge to dismantle barriers and prejudices in organizational contexts.
-
The Booklets – interactive reflection booklets on language, roles, wellbeing, and the future of work.
